Rev. W. Rapozo SCJ Pastor
Fr. Willyans Prado Rapozo, son of Mr. Joao Batista and Mrs. Rosa Maria, was born on July 19th, 1982, in Taubate, state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is the second child of a family of five siblings, four brothers and one sister. Since his childhood, he has been involved with his local community through the Altar Servers group, Catechism and Youth Ministry. Responding to God’s call, at the age of 15, a young man, he entered the Minor Seminary (grade 10) in Lavras, state of Minas Gerais. Then, he passed through the formation stages of Postulancy, in Curitiba (Parana); Noviciate in JaraguadoSul (Santa Catarina) and professed his first vows of poverty, chastity and obedience on February 2nd, 2002. So, at the age of 18, he became a religious member of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart (Dehonians). Following that, he lived for two years in Brusque (Santa Catarina) where he graduated in Philosophy at the Faculdade Sao Luiz institute. He went back to Lavras and worked as formator in the seminary where his journey began. After two years in this mission, Fr. Willyans started his theological studies at Faculdade Dehoniana institute, located in his hometown. He professed his final vows in Lavras (Minas Gerais) on January 31st, 2009 and on the next day was ordained deacon in Formiga (Minas Gerais). As a deacon, he served his parish of origin, Our Lady Mother of the Church, where he was ordained to the priesthood on December 5th, 2009. At his ordination, he chose as his motto, "That my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete” (Jn 15:11). With this same joy, he accepted his first pastoral assignment in the parish Bom Jesus da Penha, Rio de Janeiro, working particularly, with the needy communities in the favelas slums. On May 8th, 2012, he arrived in Canada to assist the Portuguese communities in Toronto. For six months, he worked at Saint Mary’s Church and then he was appointed associate pastor of two parishes: Saint Thomas More and Our Lady of the Rosary, where he is at the present time.
Rev. A. Warsito SCJ Associate Pastor
Fr. Aegidius Warsito known as Fr. Aegi, SCJ is an associate priest of St. Thomas More and also scheduled to say Mass in Our Lady of Rosary for English Mass at Tuesday and Sunday (alternating with Fr. Jim Casper, SCJ). Before Fr. Aegi moved to St. Thomas More, he was a chaplain of Indonesian Catholic in Toronto for 8 years. Fr. Aegi was born on September 1, 1965 in Pringsewu-Indonesia; while growing up in a big family (he was number 10 of 12) Fr. Aegi entered Seminary when he was very young and actually entered Minor Seminary in grade 10. When asked when was he actually interested in becoming a priest? Fr. Aegi was not sure but took the entry test for Minor Seminary, because his brother asked him to, his brother promised that he would join him in the Seminary, not to be a priest but to become a brother. However his brother did not join the Seminary he decided to get married instead. Fr. Aegi joined with the Sacred Heart of Jesus 1986 after he finished the Novitiate program. Fr. Aegi studied philosophies and theology in Yogyakarta-Indonesia and ordained as a priest November 25, 1993 in Palembang-Indonesia. During 12 years as a priest in Indonesia, Fr. Aegi worked in Archdiocese of Palembang-Indonesia; also working in various parishes across Indonesia while helping the poor. On July 26, 2005 Fr. Aegi came to Toronto, without knowing English, to serve the Indonesian Catholic in GTA and now works for St. Thomas More along with Our Lady of Rosary.
